Effective Speaking - Storytelling And Other Forms Of Public Speaking - Grades 5-8

Physiology, phonetics, pronunciation and language origins are among areas covered as well as more active skills involved in storytelling and the gathering of oral history. Ideas for student extension as well as for further teacher research are included.  Students are encouraged to express their own responses and thoughts about oral language as well as to develop skills, knowledge and strategies for evaluating their own speaking.
